The Barbera Festival is an outdoor wine and food festival focusing on Barbera wines. Enjoy over 80 wineries, top area restaurants and chefs, live music, local artists and vendors among vineyards and rolling hills.
Barbera may not have the same instant name recognition as more common red wines like Cabernet, Zinfandel or Merlot, but its roots run deep in both
Italy and California. First planted in the 1880s, Barbera is the second most
planted wine grape varietal in Amador County and one we love to call our own.
The festival location features a beautiful meadow spotted with ancient oaks tucked among hillside vineyards and is the original home of barbera in Amador County: Terra d'Oro/Montevina Winery. With elbow room for everyone, the tradition continues: a day of Barbera tasting like no other in California.
All net proceeds from this green event go to the Amador Community Foundation to be distributed to local charitable causes.
