In honor of great Scottish poet Robert Burns, The Celebration to the Bard is hosted each year. Guests will enjoy traditional bagpipes by Abraham McCarty, readings of Robert Burns’ poetry by the Mother Lode Scots, toasts, entertainment by Golden Bough, and a true Scottish meal. The evening will end with a rousing rendition of “Auld Lang Syne.”
The menu for the evening is Traditional Haggis, Scotch Broth Soup, Leafy Baby Gem Lettuce Salad, the choice of one of the entrée: Salmon or Prime Rib, and Sticky Toffee Pudding, served with Coffee, Tea and Water.
The Mother Lode Scots was founded in 1979 in Amador County to provide an association for Scots and descendants of Scots who migrated to the United States. Like their counterparts across the world, the Mother Lode Scots participate in Scottish celebrations and traditions to proudly display their heritage.
