“Days of 49” Wagon Train

The Wagon Train journey begins with visiting the town of Plymouth. Catch us on one of the backstreets or as we enjoy a wave to the children at the Plymouth Elementary School before stopping on Main Street. As we depart Plymouth we make a quick drive thru the 49er Village RV Resort.

• 10AM - departs for Plymouth
• 11AM - Main Street in Plymouth, 30 min stop
• Loops to 49 RV and Resort
• Return to private encampment

Departing Plymouth we head to Drytown via private ranch properties. The Wagon Train will stop on Spanish Street in Drytown for a visit and photos, and then head to a nearby ranch for a private encampment.

• 11AM - Stops in Drytown, on Spanish St., 30 min stop
• To private Ranch

Old Highway 49 will become the Wagon Train route. Amador City is the first stop for a visit with the Wagon Train. Continuing the drive on back roads, the Wagon Train will also stop for a late lunch in Sutter Creek. Our final climb up Sutter Hill ends at the Italian Picnic Grounds. Late afternoon/early evening there will be music, entertainment and a BBQ dinner available.

• 11AM - Stops in Amador City, 30 min stop
• Late Lunch - Stops on Main Street in Sutter Creek, 1 hour stop
• 3PM - Arrives at Italian Picnic Grounds, Hwy 49, Sutter Hill

The Wagon Train begins the morning travelling through beautiful ranch land off Ridge Road. The trip continues with stops at the Kit Carson Mountain Men Hut in Jackson and a visit with residents at Oak Manor Retirement Complex, next to the Amador Senior Center. Tonight’s encampment is at the historic Laughton Ranch, (90 Clinton Road, Jackson, across from Raley’s).

The public is invited to a free, full day of activities at this delightful working ranch. Several living history programs, vendors, entertainment, music and dancing are planned in to the night. A BBQ will be available throughout the day.

• 11:30AM - Stops at Mountain Men Hut (Kennedy Tailing Wheels), 30 min stop
• Noonish - Procession on Main Street in Jackson (Street open to traffic)
• 1PM - Stops at Senior Center in Jackson, 30 min stop
• 2PM - Arrives at Laughton Ranch
• Noon to 8PM - "Days of 49" Celebration at Laughton Ranch (90 Clinton Rd, across from Raley's)
  • Family fun activities, magic act, living history programs, vendors, entertainment and classic country music by Those Windburn Brothers
  • BBQ Lunch and Diner available

Parade Day! Head to Main Street, Jackson, for the Wagon Train’s “grand finale” with an entertaining parade of performers, riders and local historic groups. The parade concludes with the Kit Carson Mountain Men Wagon Train. The train will stop for about 30 minutes on Main Street to provide parade goers the opportunity to check out the wagons, horses & mules and take photos with the Kit Carson Mountain Men.
