The Wagon Train departs from the Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth and will start with a pass and a wave to the children at the Plymouth Elementary School. We make a short stop on Main Street, Plymouth, and then loop through vineyards of the Shenandoah Valley. On our return to the fairgrounds the public is invited to visit the Wagon Train. BBQ is available from 5-7 pm.

This morning the Wagon Train journey will loop through the 49er Village RV Resort before heading off to Drytown via private ranchland. The Wagon Train makes a stop on Spanish Street in Drytown for a visit with neighbors and then heads to a nearby ranch for a private encampment.

* * * * * * * * * * Friday, April 28 * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Old Highway 49 will become the Wagon Train route. Amador City is the first stop for a visit with the Wagon Train. Continuing our drive on back roads, the Wagon Train makes a stop for a late lunch in Sutter Creek before a final hill climb to their encampment site at the Italian Picnic Grounds, 581 Hwy 49, Sutter Creek. The public is invited to see the wagons, watch a square dancing demonstration and dance to live music. BBQ is available from 5 – 7 pm.

Today the Wagon Train journey takes us through historic ranchlands off Ridge Road. The trip continues through Jackson and then stops for a visit with residents at Oak Manor Retirement Complex, next to the Amador Senior Center. Tonight’s encampment is at Laughton Ranch, (90 Clinton Road, Jackson, across from Raley’s). The public is invited to visit this delightful working ranch, see the wagon train and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, living history, vendors and music. BBQ is available throughout the day, from 1 – 7 pm.

* * * * * * * * * * Sunday, April 30 * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Parade Day! Head to Main Street, Jackson, early this morning for a 9 am pancake breakfast and some pre-parade entertainment spotlighting campfire music and a crafty magician. The Kiddies’ Parade begins at 11:00 am. The parade finale is the Kit Carson Mountain Men Wagon Train. The train will stop for about 30 minutes on Main Street to provide parade goers the opportunity to check out the wagons, horses & mules and take photos with the Kit Carson Mountain Men. Pioneer fun will continue on Main Street with activities for kids of all ages… historical interpretive exhibits, vendors, music, face painting, pony rides and kid-friendly activities – from 9 am – 4pm.
