Champagne Jam, released in 1978, was the breakthrough album that marked the zenith of music-making, critical support, and popular acclaim for Atlanta Rhythm Section. Eight outstanding original tracks are showcased with the top-notch, smooth pop production the group had been refining for years.
The album proved immensely popular, reaching the Top 10 and earning both Gold and Platinum certifications. The title track, Champagne Jam, was released as a single, as was I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight, which climbed into the Top 20. However, it was Imaginary Lover that became the band’s biggest hit, reaching No. 7 on the charts.
