Mother Lode Friends of Music presents a special interactive concert: “Songs Without Words,” featuring Dylan Jowell, cello, and John Kiunke, piano.

This talented young duo performs regularly throughout the Sacramento area, and are pleased to bring their music to the Mother Lode Friends of Music Concert Series. This performance will include music by Schumann, Fauré, Villa-Lobos, and Debussy.

Dylan and John embrace the classical tradition of using instrumental music to tell stories and to inspire the imagination of audience members of all ages. With narration and conversation, this engaging concert features beloved classics rich with imagery and also new compositions by both performers.

Dylan currently is cello faculty at the Pacific Institute of Music in Folsom, where he also teaches special lecture classes and performs in faculty recitals. A passionate educator, Dylan has spent years volunteering – providing free lessons to students through multiple non-profit programs across the United States.

A regular performer in the Sacramento area, John has played chamber and solo concerts through CSU Sacramento events, the Music at Noon concert series, and CalCap Chamber Music Festival in 2022 -2025. He is now pursuing a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
