The Amador County Tourism Marketing District (ACTMD)
was passed by the Amador County Board of Supervisors in May 2025. What does that mean for you as a short term lodging provider in Amador County?
Members will now need to pay a 2% Tourism Marketing District Fee (TMD) on gross room sales. This fee CAN be passed on to your guests. This is a line item in addition to the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT). The TMD fee is payable to the District on a quarterly basis. The same schedule as the TOT to Amador County.
FAQ's
- I've collected the TMD fee already. How do I remit that amount?
THANK YOU! That is great news. You will soon be assigned a log-in portal from HDL where you will be able to remit your payments.
- How do you set up the pass on to the guest with my Property Management System, AirBNB, Booking.com or other platforms? Each property owner needs to reach out to the platform they have registered with and update their information regarding the 2% assessment fee. We can provide steps on how to do so, and any other documents needed, but the property owner MUST be the one to update the platform.
- How do you pay the TMD? You will be contacted by the contracted collection company, HDL, with instructions on how to easily submit payment through an online portal. Please confirm your contact information is complete with email and phone number by going to VisitAmador.com/actmd-plan and click on the Partner Contact Update link.
